Regrettably some of the links are now defunct but an interesting one is ‘The Cadboro Bay Cairns, An Ancient City of the Dead’ which leads to a British Colonist article of Dec 22, 1871. It is hard to read but most interesting to follow what James Dean unearthed under one of the piles of stones that he had noticed. He talks of finding two or three hundred of these cairns in Cadboro Bay.
