MAJOR CHANGES TO CADBORO BAY TODAY WEBSITE AND NEWSLETTER

Here’s an update on the progress with the new website. As you are probably aware, Connecting Neighbours who provided the framework for this website closed down on Mar 31, 2016 after 11 years of working with them. This means that the Cadboro Bay Today website and accompanying monthly newspaper lost the support of Connecting Neighbours on that date. We quickly had to create a new website but, fortunately, we were able to continue under the same domain name. Sidewalk Upgrades to Cadboro Bay Rd & Penrhyn

Saanich, as part of their Capital Works project, will be constructing a sidewalk on the south side of Cadboro Bay Rd within the Cadboro Bay Village area. This will include: 1. Construction of a 2m wide concrete sidewalk on the south side between Sinclair Rd & Penrhyn St (approx. 75 m long) 2. Derelict Boats Removed from Cadboro Bay Beach

Summary of Report dated Jan 21, 2016 regarding the Derelict Boats washed up in Cadboro Bay by Paul Thorkelsson, Saanich CAO: On Dec 5, a concrete live-aboard vessel washed ashore during a storm. Owner was attempting to relocate boat from Esquimalt Harbour to mooring area on Oak Bay side of the bay when it came loose. During same storm a number of other vessels broke loose and most ended up on Oak Bay shore but a yellow hulled fiberglass sailboat also ended up on Saanich side of the bay.
